1854 N-11 R2 PCGS graded MS64+ Red & Brown
Mint red fading to steel brown with slightly more than a third of the mint color remaining. The surfaces are quite attractive, satiny and nearly free of marks. The best identifying marks are two tiny ticks under the earlobe, a tiny struck-through line running through the R in LIBERTY (as struck), and a minor swipe of darker toning between the main curl and star 12. E-MDS, die state b. The fields are covered with fine radial die flowlines including a very light flowline down from the right base of the 4. The details at the ear are sharply struck, a big plus for this variety. Our grade is MS64, tied for CC#2 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
