Glossy light olive and steel brown with at least 10% of the bright mint red remaining on the obverse and more than a third of the original red showing on the reverse. The only notable marks are a small spot of reddish brown toning on the front edge of the neck, a faint streak of darker toning slanting down into the field from the coronet, and a speck of dark toning under the left side of the O in OF. This cent has great eye appeal. MDS with a strong die crack up from the dentils through the 1 in the date along the bust and neck to the back of the ear, then weakly up through the head to the bottom point of star 8 where it fades away. Called MS64 by Bland. Our grade is MS63. A very nice cent that is clearly in the condition census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
