Very attractive frosty medium steel brown. Satiny mint luster covers this cent and it has outstanding eye appeal. Looks choice mint state (hence the lofty grade assigned by PCGS) but there is a hint of rub on the very highest points of the devices. The only notable mark is a thin diagonal nick on the cheek. E-MDS. The lump on the upper edge of the lower loop of the 6 is clear and there is no trace of die rust at stars 8-10. There are myriad fine die finishing lines on the cheek and neck plus a few more in the obverse fields. In addition there is light but clearly visible edge reeding from star 3 to star 7, and most of the reeds are visible in the holder. Several of this variety have been seen with partial edge reeding, but the reeds are especially clear on this piece. Our grade is AU58.
