A pair of 1752 Counterfeit George II Halfpennies, Simian Family, Dies 14-52A (85.2 grains) and 26-52K (82.8 grains). Both Very Good, and somewhat weakly struck. The first has about half the legends visible, a full date, and outlined design details. Medium brown, lightly rough and with some reverse pitting. The second is very weak at the upper portion of each side – struck nearly medal turn, these two areas are opposite each other. Just a few letters visible of the obverse legend, BRITA strong on the reverse, as is the date. The tops of each design weak, the rest at least outlined. Medium brown, light roughness. The first is one of the more common of the George II Simian varieties, while the second is scarcer and we note the plate coin for the book is not much better than this. Two coins in the lot.
