Frosty light brown and steel with slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. The only marks are a small nick right of the mouth and another on the rim at star 6. The rim on the reverse is dark and oxidized. Sharply struck earliest die state, Grellman state a. The repunching at the 18 is crisp and the fields are covered with microscopic die polishing lines. A single set of light but sharp die clashmarks show at the inner curl and over the O in ONE. This is the only example of the earliest die state seen by Grellman. Our grade is AU55. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. 406072.63/33358489 Ex the 1991 ANA bourse-J. R. Grellman 10/1995-R. S.
