Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with mellowed mint red in the protected areas on the obverse. Very attractive with very few contact marks, but there are some shallow low spots on both sides (caused by lubricant on the dies, a common feature on this variety as mentioned in the Grellman reference). The notable lot spots are on the neck, left of star 5, right of the date, and on the wreath below ENT. EDS, die state a, with sharp vertical lines down from the main curl. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. 406036.64/33359015 Ex McLaughlin & Robinson Auctions 2/1985:334-Philip Van Cleave, Kagin's 1/30/1986:4400-Wesley A.
