Glossy light to medium brown with a streak of darker olive brown toning across the reverse. No marks or other defects, just moderately worn. This cent was struck twice. Both strikes were centered but the second was rotated 80 degrees clockwise relative to the first. Ample evidence of the first strike is visible on both sides. The tip of the coronet from the first impression touches star 2, the 3 from the date is at star 10, and ME from AMERICA touches the tip of the wreath stem. Much more of the first strike is visible but these three points can give you the idea. A great mint error. Removed from an NGC holder graded XF40 (NGC label #1629233-001 included, and it shows the attribution and "DBL STK, ROTATED IN COLLAR MINT ERROR." Ex Chris McCawley 8/31/2002-W. M. "Jack" Wadlington (includes the Wadlington collection notes)
