1853 N-10 R1 Repunched 18 & 3 PCGS graded MS63 Red & Brown

Frosty mint red mellowing to bluish steel brown and light olive with about half of both sides showing faded mint color. A choice piece except for a low spot caused by debris on the die, and it covers most of the neck into the bottom of the jaw. Otherwise a speck of carbon in the field close to the upper lip and a dull nick on the rim over the T in UNITED are the only marks. Lustrous and attractive in spite of the low spot. MDS, die state b. The repunching below the 1 and inside the top of the 8 remains visible but the early die lines at MER are gone. Our grade is MS62. The attribution and Iskra provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
