Choice lustrous bluish steel and light olive with traces of faded mint red on the obverse and 20% of the reverse showing mellowed mint red. The surfaces are satiny and the eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. Just a few trivial marks including two very tiny ticks under star 3 and a small spot of dark toning at the right top of the M in AMERICA. Extremely Rare LDS, die state c, with a strong rim cud at the bottom of the reverse and a very faint die crack on the rim that outlines where a final cud is forming over AM (this crack is visible from over the right side of the A to over the center of the left upright of the M so only the right half of the cud is outlined by this crack). A wonderful die state, and the rim crack would not be visible on a worn cent. Our grade is MS63, tied for finest known honors for the variety but finest of the die state in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. 147287.64/28461185 Ex John Higgins (Falmouth Stamp & Coin) 3/25/1995-Colonel Steven K.
