1851 N-38 R1 PCGS graded MS65 Red & BrownLustrous steel brown and light olive with about 25-30% of the original mint color remaining, mostly on the reverse. This cent is choice except for a subtle wisp of light reddish brown toning at stars 9-10 and another at F-A. Otherwise just a few trivial marks including a small carbon spot in the dentils over the left side of the M in AMERICA and a microscopic tick under the left base of the E in ONE. Sharply struck E-MDS, die state a. The fields have microscopic radial die flowlines, but the early points from the E & N in CENT are clear. A sharp, attractive cent in spite of the minor defects. Our grade is MS62+, very close to MS63, and tied for CC#8 for the variety in the Grellman census. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.

Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder. Bidding will proceed as competition dictates with the lot either selling to the floor or to the mail/web bidder at one increment above the second highest bid.
