Lustrous olive and steel brown with mellowed mint red covering about 20% of both sides. The only notable marks are a horizontal scratch under the jaw and a small spot of fine carbon on the E in LIBERTY. The reverse is choice. E-MDS, die state b early. The vertical die lines left of star 4 are strong and the repunching under the first 1 is sharp. Our grade is MS60 (but it certainly looks better to the unaided eye). Comes with a nice provenance.

AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 15% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.

Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder.
