1850 N-19/16 R1 MS65Lustrous bright mint red fading to steel brown and olive on the highpoints with nearly two-thirds of the bright mint color showing, mostly on the reverse. Very attractive and nearly flawless. The notable marks are a light diagonal nick in the center of the cheek, a tiny scuff close over the tip of the coronet, and a puff of slightly darker steel toning in the field left of star 11. LDS, die state b (Newcomb's old #16). The obverse die lines and the lump between the 1 & 8 have been polished off the die, and just a few die lines remain visible left of the C in CENT. Removed from a PCGS holder graded MS65RB (PCGS label #405905.65/16210035 included, and it shows the attribution). Our grade is MS65. CC#3 in the Grellman census, and it comes with a nice provenance.Certificate Number: Pedigree: Ex G. Lee Kuntz, Superior 10/6/1991:1114-R. S.
