1850 N-14 R4 PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC ApprovedLustrous medium brown and light chocolate with faint peeps of faded mint color on the reverse. The only marks are a couple microscopic planchet flakes near the hair under star 7 (as struck) and two small patches of microscopic olive brown dirt on the obverse: one in the field close before the forehead and another left of star 12. The reverse is choice. Sharply struck VEDS, die state a early. This is a rare die state with smooth, hard fields and sharp die lines at the throat and over ICA in AMERICA. An attractive, frosty cent. Our grade is MS62, CC#4 overall but finest known of the early die state by a wide margin in the Grellman census. (The holder is scuffed.)Certificate Number: 1889.65/26530479Pedigree: Ex Charles J.
