1850 C-1 R2- ANACS graded MS60 Brown

Choice lustrous medium brown and light chocolate with very subtle hints of light bluish steel overtone. Satiny mint frost covers this cent, even the highpoints of the devices, and the eye appeal is outstanding. The only defects are a shallow low spot near the dentils left of the first S in STATES (as struck) and a tiny rim bruise at the C in AMERICA. Many 1850 half cents come with some shallow low spots near the dentils, usually on both sides. From our experience the 1850 half cent is the most difficult of the 1849-1857 years to find in true mint state grades. Sharply struck EDS with hard, very slightly reflective fields. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label.
