Sharpness F12 or slightly better but there are some marks including a dig at star 9, another on the inner curl, and a small one on the rim at star 2. Mostly smooth but there is minor roughness in the fields on the reverse, and much (but not all) of that roughness is from the rusted die. Mostly glossy medium brown blending to chocolate in protected areas on the reverse. Only 10 examples of the variety are known, this one CC#8 in the Grellman census. One of the rarest business strike varieties in the entire series of Newcomb die varieties, 1816-1857. This was the ninth example discovered; it was found in Hawaii in 2020.Ex O. M.
