Glossy light brown and olive with delicate overtones of bluish steel. Satiny mint frost covers the fields and protected areas and the eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. The only marks are a small spot of darker olive toning left of star 1 and a tiny vertical nick on the chin. EDS, die state a early (there is no state b for this variety; the die marriage didn't last long). The fields are slightly reflective and show many fine die polishing lines. A choice cent with light friction on the highpoints. Our grade is AU50, second finest behind an off-center strike of this rare die variety in the Grellman census. The attribution and Iskra Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. (The back of the holder is scratched.)406550.58+/81014429Ex Del Bland prior to 6/1989-R. S.
