Frosty light to medium chocolate brown and steel with hints of underlying very faded mint color in a couple of the protected areas on the reverse. The surfaces are satiny and the eye appeal is consistent with a slightly higher grade. The only marks are a thin nick over star 2 and tiny planchet chips that cover the outer edge of the rim at the top of the reverse, as struck. Sharply struck EDS, die state a. The fine die lines on the reverse are clear, including the one through the D in UNITED. Our grade is MS60, CC#3 in the Grellman census with the next finest grading only AU50. The attribution and Iskra Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. (The back of the holder is scuffed.)406538.63/81014426Ex Thomas D.
