The obverse is glossy light brown with frosty slightly faded mint color in protected areas. The reverse is slightly faded mint red shifting to light steel brown on the devices, about half of the reverse showing frosty mint color. A tiny rim bruise over star 8 and a small nick midway between star 1 and the chin are the only marks of any significance, and they are barely visible. The reverse is choice. MDS, the usual die state, with the always present die cracks around the reverse legend which formed during the earlier N-27 marriage for this reverse die. (The N-33 variety was produced from a marriage of the same obverse die used for N-8 and N-21 in its earliest state and the reverse die of N-27 in a later state.) Tied for CC#3 in the Grellman census. Removed from a PCGS holder graded MS64 Brown (PCGS label #399425.64/18900270 included, and it shows the attribution and Naftzger Collection provenance).Ex Willard C. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.

Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder. Bidding will proceed as competition dictates with the lot either selling to the floor or to the mail/web bidder at one increment above the second highest bid.
