Glossy steel brown and light chocolate. Attractive with smooth surfaces and trivial defects including a nick-like planchet flake in the field before the chin and a small low spot at the dentil tips over star 3. MDS, die state b. The repunching on the 4 remains clear but the repunching on the 1 & 8 is mostly gone, only remnants remaining visible. Looks mint state but there is a hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. Our grade is AU55+. The attribution and Tucker Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. 406438.62/81766027 Ex McCawley & Grellman Auctions 9/21/1991:123-Dr. Bruce Tucker, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 2/12/2017:492 (includes the Tucker collection envelope and 1991 M&G lot ticket)
