Date: 1847Frosty medium steel brown and light olive with a few small peeps of mellowed mint red on both sides. Mint luster covers the fields and protected areas and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. Just a few trivial marks including a small splash of darker olive brown toning under star 4 and a small planchet flake midway between star 1 and the chin (as struck). EDS, die state a, with an uncracked reverse. There are a few shallow low spots around ONE CENT (caused by lubricant on the die, as struck). Our grade is AU55, tied for CC#14 in the Grellman census. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 15% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.

Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder.
