Date: 1847Glossy light to medium brown with a tiny splash of darker chocolate brown toning on the N in ONE. Satiny mint frost covers the protected areas on both sides and this cent has very nice eye appeal. Looks choice mint state but there is a hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. E-MDS, die state b, with fine die cracks on the reverse but no rim cuds. The repunching under the crossbar of the 4 is clear. Our grade is AU58, tied for CC#10 in the Grellman census. Comes with a very nice provenance. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.Ex Henry C. Hines-Floyd T. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 15% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
