Date: 1847Very attractive lustrous light olive with at least 10% of the planchet showing slightly faded mint red. Sharply struck and nearly flawless. A very small tick on the rim off the upper point of star 4 and a tiny speck of darker brown toning over the right top of the T in CENT are the best identifying marks. EDS, die state a, with strong diagonal die lines covering the fields on the obverse. Tied for CC#7 in the Grellman census. A very nice example of a neat die state, and it comes with a great provenance.Ex Bruno Crossfield 12/1956-Willard C. Blaisdell 9/15/1976 (via Del Bland)-R. E.
