Date: 1847Very attractive lustrous light olive and chocolate. Satiny mint luster covers the fields and protected areas and this cent has great eye appeal. Looks mint state but there is a hint of rub on the very highest points of the portrait. The only marks are a very thin vertical nick on the jaw over the throat and a faint diagonal scuff between star 3. The best identifying mark may be a tiny speck of darker toning just right of the nostril. Nicely struck E-MDS. The die lines at the neck and throat are sharp, the horizontal lines at NE in ONE are clear, and very fine radial die flowlines show at the dentil tips. Our grade is AU58+, very close to mint state. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
