Lustrous light olive with 10% of the mint red remaining. Sharp, satiny, and choice. The only defects, and they are trivial mint-made flaws, are a tiny planchet chip at the left point of star 5 and a barely visible struck-through line under the earlobe (caused by a piece of lint on the die). EDS (but not quite the earliest) with microscopic die flowlines in the fields but no vertical die lines at ES-OF and no cracks. The top of the stray 4 in the dentils below the right side of the 8 is clear and the reverse is rotated 15 degrees clockwise. A very nice cent, tied for CC#3 in the Grellman census. Comes with a nice provenance.Ex Mrs. Henry Ford Collection-Horace M. Grant 10/10/1939-Willard C. Blaisdell 9/1976 (via Del Bland)-R. E. "Ted" Naftzger, Jr.-Fred H.
