Frosty mint red fading to olive and steel brown with 15% of the red remaining on the obverse, 25% on the reverse. The only marks are specks of darker toning on the bottom of the wreath. This cent would rate a significantly higher grade if the strike was better. The profile, stars, shoulder, and many of the leaves in the wreath are softly impressed leaving the highpoints slightly rough with the texture of the unstruck planchet. MDS, die state a, before any rim cud breaks on the obverse. An attractive example in spite of the imperfect strike, CC#3 for the variety in the Grellman census. Removed from a PCGS holder graded MS63RB (PCGS label # 1866.63/11989812 included).Ex Alpine Numismatics 4/2008-Phyllis Thompson, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 1/31/2010:551-Fred H.
