Lustrous bright mint red fading to light steel brown with more than a third of the original mint color remaining. Sharply struck and very attractive with just a few microscopic marks. A tiny speck of darker toning at the dentils under star 1 and a swipe of darker brown toning over NIT can help identify this cent. EDS, die state a, before any die cracks on the reverse. The repunching on the top of the 5 is clear. A variety that is relatively common in mint state but this is a particularly nice one. Our grade is MS63+, tied for CC#3 in the Grellman census, and it comes with a nice provenance. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.Ex Stack's (privately)-Denis W. Loring-R. S.
