Lustrous mint red mellowing to steel brown with about 45% of the planchet showing mint color. Satiny and virtually flawless. Sharply struck with full radial lines in all the stars and crisp dentils all the way around both sides. The only marks are some tiny ticks in the field right of the main curl, a nick on the edge under star 10, and a rim nick at the bottom of the reverse. Otherwise an unqualified gem cent. This is the finest example of the variety by a small margin in the Grellman census, marginally finer than the best example in the famous Naftzger collection. 56092594 Ex Ted Kress 2/25/1991-Fred H.
