Date: 1838Frosty medium olive brown and steel. The surfaces are satiny and the strike is sharp. No notable marks and the eye appeal is solidly mint state, but there is a hint of run on the very highest points of the devices. LDS, Grellman stats f, with a clearly defined rim cud from below the date to even with the top of star 12. A much weaker rim cud also shows from over star 6 nearly to star 7, but it is barely visible thanks in part to the very narrow rim in that area. In addition there is a die crack across the bust tip and the area below the crack is sunken. Graded MS60 by Del Bland and James Corrado. Our grade is AU58+.6619522-001Ex Larry Whitlow 8/1980-Del Bland 2/19/1987-James L. Corrado, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 2/11/2007:774 (includes the Bland and Corrado collection envelopes)
