Choice lustrous steel brown with 10% of the obverse and 20% of the reverse showing original mint red. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has outstanding eye appeal. The only marks, and they are insignificant, are a thin nick-like planchet chip midway between the chin and star 1 and a tiny splash of slightly darker brown toning at the left top of the N in ONE. M-LDS. The die line from the dentils left of star 5 is dull but still visible and the fields are covered with fine radial die flowlines. Graded MS63 and tied for CC#2 honors behind only the ANS example (which I grade MS63+) in the Noyes census, his photo # 39898. Our grade is MS63+. A very nice cent. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label.
