Choice lustrous light olive brown and bluish steel with traces of mint red on the obverse and at least half of the reverse showing bright mint red. The eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. The only defects, and they are trivial, are a very shallow planchet flake on the right side of the C in AMERICA, a small planchet chip out of the rim over the adjacent A, and a tiny nick under the E in STATES. E-MDS. The fields on the obverse are smooth and the spike up to the left from the top of the brow lock where it meets the coronet is clear but not sharp. Our grade is MS63, solidly in the condition census for the variety. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
