Beautiful lustrous bluish steel and light olive with at least 20% of the planchet showing faded mint red, mostly on the reverse. Had to be close to getting an "RB" designation from PCGS. Unbroken satiny mint frost covers this cent and the eye appeal is outstanding. Just a few trivial marks from flawless. A light nick or planchet flake on the rim at star 6, a speck of carbon at the dentils right of star 13, and a barely visible scratch between the I & T in UNITED are good identifying marks. Sharply struck MDS. Lapping has removed the tiny lumps around the outside berry under TE in UNITED, but a few remain tucked tightly around the berry left of the bottom of the C in CENT. A wonderful cent that comes with an excellent provenance. Our grade is MS63+, close to MS64. Noyes says MS63 and tied for CC#1, his photo #36383. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; the finest graded of the variety. And it comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. (The slab is a bit scuffed.)
