Lustrous medium brown with peeps of mint red on the obverse and at least 5% of the reverse showing mint color. Satiny mint frost covers this cent and the eye appeal is outstanding. Just a few minor marks including a tiny planchet flake at the top of star 8 (as struck), and a carbon spot between the N & T in CENT. There is a streak of darker steel brown toning through the N in ONE that contains a very faint planchet lamination (looks like a hairline die crack). A very nice example of this "Redbook" variety, the only 1837 with a Plain Hair Cord and Small Letters. Our grade is MS62+. Housed in a small OGH "rattler" slab.
