Lustrous tan and light steel brown, the reverse a shade or two darker than the obverse. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has excellent eye appeal. A small group of tiny, very light nicks between star 1 and the neck are the only marks, and they are barely visible. M-LDS. The die line connecting the bases of the I & T in UNITED seen in the earlier state is gone and the fields are covered with fine radial die flowlines. There are clear double outlines on the top of UNITED and ERI (in the die, not from die bounce). A really nice example of this "Redbook" type, the only Plain Hair Cord with Small Letters variety. Our grade is MS62. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. (The slab is scuffed on the reverse.)

AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.
