Choice lustrous mint red fading to steel brown with about 30% of the mint color remaining, mostly on the obverse. A beautiful, satiny large cent with nearly flawless surfaces. You can find a few microscopic abrasions and a couple tiny specks of dark toning under strong magnification, but none are at all worthy of mention. The best identifying mark is a tiny speck of carbon near the hair right of the eye. MDS. The fields on the reverse are flowlined and the die line over the F in OF is a bit dull but still clearly visible. Graded MS65 by Del Bland. Our grade is MS64+, close to MS65. Certainly one of the finest examples known of this variety. The attribution and Ralls provenance are shown on the PCGS label.
