Lustrous mint red fading to light steel brown with 10% of the obverse and a third of the reverse showing slightly faded mint color. A choice mint state cent except for some nicks on the obverse including two rather strong ones high on the cheek and a thin one in the field off the chin. A spot of very fine carbon nestled between the tip of the coronet and star 6 also catches your eye. The reverse is choice. MDS with a cud break over star 8 and a few fine cracks on the reverse, but the radial crack right of the D in UNITED has not formed. Our grade is net AU58+ (but you could argue for a slightly higher grade based on the mint color and luster). The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
