Date: 1835Frosty light steel brown with slightly darker steel brown toning at stars 7-9. No marks and just a hint of friction on the highpoints. LDS, Grellman state b, with flowlined fields and small lumps from die rust on both sides, especially on the neck and inside the wreath (Newcomb's old #17). The earlier lumps on the bottoms of the 1 & 8 are gone. There is a clear double profile from the forehead down to the chin (machine doubling). Our grade is AU50+, very close to AU55. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. Comes with a nice provenance.6703128-007Ex J. P. Young, M. H. Bolender Mail Bid Sale 11/1951:603-Christian M.
