1835 N-7/17 R1 Head of 1836 AU50+Choice glossy olive and medium brown. The toning on the obverse is somewhat woodgrained and there are traces of very faded mint red on both sides. There is very little friction on the highpoints and this cent is close to AU55. VEDS, die state a early (Newcomb's #17). The fields are hard and slightly reflective. A really nice example of this variety, quite rare in this earliest die state. This is the Newcomb plate coin for the variety (Plates VII and VIII, item 7-E; the Newconmb Plate Coin information was not mentioned in the Stack's auction catalog). Graded AU55 by Del Bland. There is a fine double profile on the forehead, lips, chin, date, and on many of the stars. Some of the stars have triple profiles.Pedigree: G2

2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-attributed.
7. Mail bids, or phone bids will be accepted up through the day of the sale. Please direct email bids to friscomint@live.com. All bids will be reduced.
