1834 N-6 R3 Large 8, Stars, & Letters ANACS graded MS61 Brown

Lustrous light to medium brown very delicately mottled with medium chocolate brown on the reverse. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has excellent eye appeal. Just a couple minor defects including two very tiny ticks hidden in the dentils under the 8 and a spot of darker reddish brown toning just right of the upper berry left of the O in ONE. This spot does contain a faint trace of carbon. Otherwise this cent is choice. LDS with the usual die crack through the date and stars plus a triangular lump hanging down from the dentils right of star 8. In addition there are sharp triple profiles on many devices on the obverse including the forehead, nose, lips, chin, ear, and ERTY (from die bounce or machine doubling). A really nice example of this scarce "Redbook" variety. Graded MS60 and tied for CC#3 honors in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 net AU55 and tied for CC#5, his photo #26984. Our grade is AU58+, very close to mint state. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label.
