Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with steel brown toning on the highest points of the design. Frosty mint luster shows through in the fields and protected areas. No spots or stains. The only marks are a few short hairline scratches in the field close to the brow lock, a disjointed scratch left of star 13, a dull nick in the center of the eyebrow, and a couple barely visible hairlines at RIC. Excellent eye appeal in spite of the minor marks. EDS. The obverse fields are smooth thanks to a fresh die lapping following its use during the earlier N-6 marriage. Called MS60 and CC#1 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 and CC#3, his photo #21303. Our grade is MS60. A wonderful example of this tough "Redbook" type, among the finest known. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
