Lustrous medium steel brown with 10% of the obverse and two-thirds of the reverse showing bright mint color. The surfaces are satiny and this cent appears to be choice mint state at first glance, but there is a line of dull nicks down the profile from the nose to the bust tip, strongest on the jaw. The reverse is nearly flawless and has the eye appeal of a solid gem. LDS, Grellman state c, with a tiny cud break between the two die cracks that pass through the bottom of the N in UNITED. The reverse is rotated 25 degrees clockwise. Our grade is net AU55. The attribution and Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
