The obverse is lustrous light olive and steel brown with underlying mellowed mint red showing through in the fields and protected areas. The reverse is lustrous bright original mint red just starting to tone light steel brown on the highpoints with at least 85% of the original red remaining. This cent is choice, near gem, except for a spot of dark toning at the right bottom of the O in ONE. There is no trace of carbon or roughness at the spot, but your eye just can't avoid seeing it because of the stark contrast with the bright mint color. MDS. The fields are lightly flowlined, the repunching on the 8 is clear, and the stray 8 in the dentils below the 8 is weak but still visible. Sometimes called the "Horned 8" variety because the repunching at the top of the 8 looks like horns. A nice cent in spite of that darned spot. Our grade is net MS62. The attribution is noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.

AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.
