Frosty steel brown with lighter brown in the fields and protected areas on the obverse. Smooth and quite nice, especially for this popular "Redbook" variety. The only notable marks are a few tiny ticks under the O in ONE, a dull nick hidden on a leaf below the O in OF, and a light scuff on the upright of the T in CENT. None of these marks is visible without the aid of a glass and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. The strike is better than average for the variety but there is still some weakness on the upper half of the hair buns, the lowest curl, and some leaves under ENT. EDS with an uncracked obverse. Our grade is VF30+, close to VF35. One of the most difficult "Redbook" varieties of 1816-1839 cents to obtain in higher grades. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
