1828 N-6 R1 PCGS graded MS65 BrownHighly lustrous bluish steel and chocolate with faded mint color in protected areas, especially on the reverse. The surfaces are satiny and virtually flawless, and this cent has very nice eye appeal. A splash of slightly darker toning in the field touching the top of star 11 and another at the foot of the first T in STATES are the only notable marks. M-LDS, die state c, with very fine die cracks from the tip of the coronet through star 6 to the dentils and another up from the outer hair bun to the dentils right of star 9. The stray 8 punched at the left edge of the 2 (the so-called 28 over 88 overdate) remains visible. Tiny lumps caused by die rust are scattered over the obverse, as always on this variety. Called MS65 Choice and tied for CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #21819. Bland says MS63 and tied for CC#3. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.
