Frosty light brown with slightly darker steel brown toning on the devices. The strike is sharp, the fields are satiny, and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent, but there are some marks. The notable marks are two diagonal scratches right of star 3, a rim bruise right of the date, and a rim nick over the upright of the E in STATES. MDS with a faint die crack through the top of TED. The earlier die line at the dentils tips over ICA is gone but the die line connecting the 2 & 8 is clear and it touches both digits. Our grade is EF45. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS Gold Shield label.
