Glossy reddish brown and chocolate with peeps of lighter brown and tan toning in protected areas on the obverse. The surfaces are mostly smooth but there are a few small patches of crud or shallow verdigris on the reverse, the largest of these covering AT in STATES (possibly removable). The notable contact marks are several dull ticks under the right point of star 4, a dull diagonal nick over star 12, and a rim bruise over the A in STATES. MDS. Our grade is VF30. One of the finest examples known of this tough die variety in spite of the imperfect surfaces and uneven toning. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
