A sharp mint state cent with excellent eye appeal, but some shallow corrosion at the dentils over OF-A was carefully removed, and that area was retoned glossy medium chocolate brown. The remainder of the cent is choice lustrous light steel brown and chocolate with underlying very faded mint red showing in protected areas on the obverse. The small repair over OF-A is very easy to miss, and the PCGS grade attests to that fact. Sharply struck MDS with a trace of fusing between some of the dentils at stars 3 & 4. The diagonal die line following the second S in STATES is dull but still visible and the inner circle over MER is gone. A decent example of a variety that is represented by only 2 or 3 mint state examples (depending on the census you use). Graded MS60 net AU55 in the Bland census. Our grade is net AU58. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label (and the label says this piece is from the Twin Leaf Collection which can not be verified).
