1828 N-1 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC ApprovedChoice lustrous steel brown and light olive with traces of mint red on the reverse. Smooth and very sharp with great eye appeal. The only marks are a faint diagonal scratch through the bust and a short, very light scratch over the first 8. A tiny planchet flake right of the A in STATES is a good identifying mark, and it takes a glass to see all three of these defects. MDS, die state b early. The arc line over MER is gone and the fields are lightly flowlined. A superior cent. Graded MS63 and finest of only three mint state examples in the Noyes census, his photo #35696. Our grade is MS63+. Comes with a very nice provenance.Certificate Number: 36874.64/30821488Pedigree: Ex John J.
