Lustrous light brown with overtones of light bluish steel. A small splash of lighter reddish tan under the F in HALF can identify this piece. Satiny mint frost covers both sides and the eye appeal is excellent. The only notable contact marks are a thin nick right of star 4 and another under the first S in STATES. E-MDS, Manley state 2.0, Fuhrman 2, with clashmarks inside the wreath and traces of die rust visible over the first A in AMERICA. The repunching on star 2 is still clear. The reverse of this piece is plated in the Breen encyclopedia to illustrate the reverse of the variety. Our grade is MS63. Comes with a nice provenance and this piece is listed third in the Breen condition census for the variety (see page 329). Housed in an older generation PCGS slab.
