A couple points sharper but cleaned and retoned dark steel and reddish chocolate with traces of tan in protected areas on the obverse. No marks, but the obverse is covered with uniform extremely fine granularity while the reverse is smooth. Extremely rare LDS with a sunken retained cud break under the date. Called VG7 net G5 by Noyes and second finest of the die state, his photo #22383. Our grade is net G6. Either way this is a very important cent for the collector of rare die states. The finest example in the Noyes census grades net G6 so there aren't any great options. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
