1826 N-6 R2 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC ApprovedChoice lustrous medium steel brown and light chocolate with faint hints of very faded mint color peeking through in a few protected places on the reverse. A gorgeous cent that has superb eye appeal. Sharply struck and satiny with full radials in all the stars, crisp hair details, and veins in the leaves of the wreath. The only notable mark, and it is faint, is a spot of slightly darker reddish brown toning tucked between the curl over the 6 and the truncation. M-LDS, die state h. The fields on the obverse are smooth and slightly reflective thanks to a fresh die polishing, and a rim cud reaches from star 6 to star 8. The repunching on the left side of the first A in AMERICA is clear. Clear, wide doubling (from die bounce or "machine doubling") shows on parts of the hair at the back of the portrait under the hair bun. Graded MS65 Choice and tied for CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #33441. Bland says MS60+ and tied for CC#4. Our grade is MS63. A really nice cent.Certificate Number: 36826.64/83251690Pedigree: Ex Charles J.
